Location/Visiting Information

The research complex with Novum, the Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, and Södertörns University College is located about 14 km southwest of Stockholm center. Overview map of the complex, and an aerial view of the university complex from the Swedish yellow pages.

The laboratory is located in Novum, on the 6th floor, sections 6A and 6D.

Public transport:
Take the Commuter train (Pendeltåg) to Flemingsberg Station from the main train station in Central Stockholm in the direction towards Södertälje. Trains run about every 15 minutes during daytime. Note: Flemingsberg Station is a regular train station and some long distance trains from Göteborg and Malmö also stop there. At Flemingsberg station, exit through the larger south station building and turn towards your right. Take the escalator up the hill. On the right you will see Södertörns Högskola. Pass to the left of the big rock formation in the central courtyard of Södertörns Högskola, and use the pedestrian overpass that crosses the road. Follow the footpath for another 100 meters until you reach the main entrance of Novum.

Taxi:
From Arlanda or Stockholm take a taxi to Novum, Hälsovägen 7, or mention Hospital in Huddinge (Universitetssjukhuset); one of these the taxi driver should know. From Hälsovägen 7 you enter the Novum building on level 3 and walk/take the elevator to the 5th floor to get to the main hall.

The city of Stockholm offers many tourist attractions, and has a large number of museums.  Here are links to Stockholm area web cameras (Sheraton, webbkameror), the Google map of Gamla Stan (or satellite).  Stockholm's weather is milder than expected due to the gulf stream which moderates weather, in average it has less snow than, for example, the NorthEast of the USA. In summer the long daylight entices people to enjoy nature, in particular the thousands of islands in the archipelago that lies between Stockholm and the baltic sea. Only a few kilometers from Novum is the Flottsbro recreational area, that offers a beach in summer and skiing in winter.
